Journey
Adrian Bruce Cunanan was born in San Francisco, CA and was raised in the heart of The Silicon Valley. His early education consisted of Catholic Elementary School and being taught by the Jesuits at Bellarmine College Preparatory. It was in High School that Adrian first began to research the common themes of International Religions. Adrian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Information and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. While there, he participated in many extracurricular opportunities, such as Kaba Modern, The Cross-Cultural Center, The Student Parent Orientation Program, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. This involvement allowed him to hone his skills as a problem solver, communicator, mentor and a leader.
Adrian began his career in Technology in 1998 working as a Network Administrator for the Vice-Chancellor at UCI. He set a goal of becoming an IT Consultant so that he could use his knowledge of technology to help businesses keep productive and profitable through the optimal use of technology. In 2002, after obtaining many industry certifications and work experience he achieved his goal by securing an IT Consultant position with QBIS Group, Inc. He moved on to another consulting company, Xantrion, which focused on providing IT service to growing companies in the Greater Bay Area. Over the next five years, he rose through the ranks to Senior Consultant. It was through Xantrion that he got his first taste of living in New York City. In 2011, Adrian moved to New York City to accept a job as a Network Operations Manager for a technology boutique, Something Digital.
One word often used to describe Adrian Bruce Cunanan is tenacious. This can be shown by his voluntary completion of the 2006 Avia Wildflower Olympic Distance Triathlon and the 2007 ING New York City Marathon. Adrian has always loved to test the limits of his own potential. But it was actually earlier in his lifetime that he faced his biggest challenge. In 2002, Adrian was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. This was a shock to himself, his family, friends and colleagues. For the next 10 years, Adrian made it his sole purpose in life to find a way to sustain his happiness levels in a healthy way. He went on to read many of the classic wisdom text and self-development books in search for answers. At the age of 33, he finally had reached a temporary state of enlightenment while meditating. The result was The Algorithm and Manifesto. In 2011, he stumbled upon Brian Johnson’s Optimal Living 101. After he completed the series, this newfound knowledge combined with The Algorithm finally gave Adrian the answer he had been searching for. This knowledge prompted him to establish a non-profit organization, Be Your Greatest Self, whose mission is to empower individuals to realize their full potential. Adrian utilizes his communication, problem solving, and leadership skills paired with his lifetime wisdom on happiness, achievement, optimization and efficiency to assist young aspiring adults to live the mantra “Be Your Greatest Self”.
